There is no "Best" language. Historically, C++ is used because it provides low level enough access to allow a programmer to do low level optimization. C is also used, but not as frequently for various reasons (Mostly because DirectX APIs were for C++) Assembly was also a big player early on because it was the closest you could get to bare metal without staring at hex.

The best dialect is the dialect that serves best the stage you're creating on. Most stages, be that as it may, offer a few selections of dialects and after that the best one among them can be viewed as the one that servers best the diversion you're creating.

Enormous support amusements are created in C++, with C and Assembly for low-level motor modules. Design is supplemented with Cg/HLSL - shader videoprocessor code inside OpenGL or DirectX systems.

If you want to make games on a mobile platform, you'll probably want to do it in the languages best suited for the platform (Java/C++ for Android, Objective C for iOS, and C# (I think) for Windows Phones, etc.).

C#, Visual Basic .NET, etc. are better for game development.
