Samsung Galaxy S8 comes with Bluetooth 5.0; you can now stream audio to two headphone

If you were dazzled by Samsung’s presentation at its Galaxy unpacked event on 29 March, now is a good time to head to the Samsung website as every single detail of what could be Android’s greatest smartphone this year is now available on the page. Buried in those pages however, is something that Samsung did not lay emphasis on at the event, Bluetooth 5.0.
The Verge points out that it is one of the finer details that Samsung left out at the announcement, probably because there was a lot of other interesting stuff to show.

Coming to the point, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be the first smartphone in the world to deliver Bluetooth 5.0.
What’s so great about Bluetooth 5?
Bluetooth 5 packs in twice the bandwidth and also four times the range. It also features eight times the broadcasting capacity as compared to Bluetooth 4.2, which is currently available on recently launched Android devices. What this means is that Bluetooth 5 can now transfer at 2 Mbps instead of the usual 1 Mbps.
Bluetooth 5
What is most impressive about Bluetooth 5 is that the bandwidth can be adjusted. According the SIG website, the new spec is flexible and developers and device makers can tweak the same in their offerings depending on what is more important for them, range, or bandwidth.
Bluetooth 5 also supports larger data packets and now works with 255-octet packages instead of the older 31-octet ones. What this also translates to is the efficient use of the 2.4GHz band, meaning that there is less time spent tapping into the band to complete tasks, making the new spec more efficient and battery-conscious when it comes to devices. It will also leave the band less clutterered.
And since it has better bandwidth, there’s no harm in delivering connectivity to more devices at once. Basically, this means that both you and your friend will be able to stream tunes via Bluetooth to two headphones at the same time.
