Camera on my MacBook doesn't work

What is the problem? What should I do?

You can try these steps:

Quit all open apps that may try to use the FaceTime camera
Open Terminal and enter the following commands, pressing return after each one:
sudo killall VDCAssistant
sudo killall AppleCameraAssistant
Enter the administrator password when requested
Relaunch the app that was attempting to use the camera

I also had this issue with me camera. It was pop up message with text there is no connected camera. I rebooted my Mac and camera started to work. Also there is another method with command "sudo killall AppleCameraAssistant && sudo killall VSCAssistant".

Here are some possible reasons why your MacBook camera isn't working.

1. Internet connection
2. Camera settings
3. Corrupted settings
4. Software malfunction
5. Physical damage
6. Incompatible with updates

Make sure that you have taken care of all these aspects and you don't have any internet connection or any settings issues. One you make sure that everything is fine, you should restart your MacBook and it should be fine.

Should you looking to find more guides on any issues regarding your MacBook, you should take a look which is a fantastic blog with great helpful content about Mac.

The problem is, of course, quite big. Especially if you practice online meetings or meetings. And even if not, you still need to contact the service center as soon as possible. For me, they repaired everything in just a couple of hours. I didn't even leave their office. Just had a couple of cups of coffee. And after that, it has been working great for over two years.
